About
Nikki Maloney serves as the Director of the Business Support Division at the Colorado Office of Economic Development & International Trade (OEDIT). The division focuses on supporting Colorado small businesses through the Small Business Development Center Network, the Minority Business Office, the Employee Ownership Office and the Cannabis Business Office. Maloney was recognized by Governor Polis as the Public Servant of the Year in 2020, representing OEDIT, for her work assisting businesses during the COVID-19 pandemic. Maloney and her team have also received: ● Small Business Administration Colorado District Office Diamond Award for the activation of the Business Support Hotline- May 2022 ● Colorado Lawyers Committee Pandemic Heroes Award, for the activation of the Colorado COVID Legal Relief Program in partnership with the Attorney General’s Office, Colorado Lawyers Committee and the legal community- September 2021
Prior to joining OEDIT, Maloney was a small business owner operating in Denver, Colorado in the outdoor recreation space. She understands the stresses and challenges business owners face. Maloney also worked at the Denver Office of Economic Development & International Trade and CH2M Hill where she created and managed the Colorado Environmental Business Alliance and the StEPP Foundation. Maloney is a graduate of the University of Denver, School of Public Policy. She is married with two college-aged children. Maloney enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, attending live music events and art exhibitions.
